If you’re off to the shops in Sunset Cove you’d better wear your sunglasses. It’s always hot and sunny here and you’d otherwise be literally blinded by the bright glare reflecting off the perfect teeth of smiling people walking down the street. You may not be able to see and would maybe walk into a lamppost, doggie doo or into the back of a truck… I used to think going to the shops was mostly for groceries. I’d go with my Mum or Grandpa to the supermarket to pick up some odds and ends to eat. However Grandpa likes to buy spaghetti to knit meals out of and if we walk past frozen chickens or honey then it reminds Mum of the birds and bees and she’ll start telling me to control my “urges” for Octavia. And once Grandpa got lost and spent 6 nights camped out in the frozen food department. It’s all very embarassing so I try not to go shopping. 5 PRESENTS GIRLS DON’T LIKE | Tripe 48 year old mouldy blue cheese Melted chocolates A bunch of dead flowers A bag of dog food |
But now I realise shops aren’t just for food or clothes – they’re also for love!! In episode 11 I go to the shops (on the advice of my inner child) to buy Octavia a present to show her how much I care for her. But what present to buy??? SHE LOVES ME – OR SHE LOVES ME NOT AND WHAT I GOT??? It’s hard to know what to buy Octavia. I’m not rich or wealthy like Josh Montana and can’t afford to buy her amazingly expens ive things like a sports car or the world’s biggest diamond. Grandpa says I should make Octavia something myself – this means it is personal and comes from the heart. But I’m no good at that – all I am good at making are paper airplanes or making a mess… I face competition from Josh for Octavia. Josh has been on a buying spree and picked up famous antiques like Custer’s last hand and the Balls of Nantucket. How can I compete with this? |
