GILES’ GUIDE TO FRIENDSHIP 2

GILES’ GUIDE TO FRIENDSHIP

Top 5 ways to get a friend

  1. Be yourself and be honest/sincere
  2. Don’t be yourself – pretend to be something you’re not if 1 doesn’t work
  3. Lie and cheat your way to friends if 1 and 2 don’t work
  4. Pay someone to be your friend
  5. Get a cardboard friend

So how did I make friends? cont…

I next made friends with Jet – she was cool from the start. She thought I was cool because I was “weird”. Jet is into weird things. Her sense of humour is hillarious and she can definitely make me laugh.

Ultimately I finally became friends with Octavia but this was more due to mutual deep down genuine affection and love between us – even if we didn’t recognise it at first.

Sophie was the first person to introduce her self to me. We became friends but only after a period of time when we both finally understood each other. Sophie accepted that I didn’t want to go out with her and respected me for it eventually. I respected Sophie for who she was – a sweet natured psycho with psychic powers and a fluffy rabbit.

There were always going to be people that I wasn’t going to be friends with. Josh Montana was one of them. With us both after Octavia’s affections it was inevitable that we were going to be rivals.

Sabrina is not the sort of person I would want as a friend – she’d turn her back on you if it meant she gained something from it. I suppose we never really saw eye to eye after the pink fluffy g-string incident and the School Editor election.

Top 5 ways to lose friends

  1. Insulting your friends
  2. Stealing your friends boyfriend or girlfriend
  3. Never return things you borrow from a friend
  4. Never return a phonecall or continually stand your friends up
  5. Ignore your friend and pretend they don’t exist

So in the end friends are important. They teach you, comfort you, entertain you and help you to be who you are.

GILES’ GUIDE TO FRIENDSHIP 1

GILES’ GUIDE TO FRIENDSHIP

Hi it’s Giles here. I was a newcomer to Sunset Cove and there’s always the problem of finding new friends. I have some great friends now so here is my guide to friendship.

What is a friend?
A friend is someone you like to spend time with. Often you like spending time with them because you have shared interests or you both share the same humour. You might be going though similar times. Friends are there to support each other. If one of you has a problem then a friend is always there to help you get through it.

Plus spending time with friends is so much fun! Going to a move, sharing pizza or a coffee. Trying something you’ve never tried before!

Friends don’t have to be exactly the same. Friends have similarities but they also have their differences. Friends can introduce you to new things you’ve never even thought of.

Sometimes people claim to be your friend but it may be that they are only interested in something else. It pays to pick your friends wisely because sometimes they can take advantage of you.

Sabrina likes money so she was happy to be friends with Josh Montana because he had lots of money. She will also want to be your friend if it suits her like when she helped Giles dish dirt on Octavia.

So how did I make friends?

I was the outsider when I moved to Sunset Cove – I was considered a “weirdo” just because I wasn’t like everyone else. Basically I was the normal one – everyone else was nuts!! Sure I didn’t have a great tan, a rich family, or great looks but I have other qualities.

When you decide whether or not you like someone it shouldn’t be based on what you can see from the outside. Many people have great hearts, humour, brains and none of that you can see. You need to talk to people and judge for yourself.

Famous Friendships

  1. Laurel and Hardy
  2. Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn
  3. Salt and Pepper
  4. Salad and Salad Cream
  5. George Clooney and Mark Wahlberg
  6. Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum

I first made friends with Beanie – it was easy to be friends with Beanie – he was an outsider too, having big ears and being an alien certainly isn’t normal. Our common interest was that we were both outsiders and we understood how each other felt – we also both liked checking out the school’s groovy chicks, like Octavia!

VIOLET’S GUIDE TO LAS VEGAS 2

VIOLET’S GUIDE TO LAS VEGAS

The Hotels and Attractions

In Las Vegas you feel like you can travel around the world in the one city. The hotels in Las Vegas are famous for things like their miniature Eiffel Tower, exploding volcanos and light shows.

I snuck out by myself one night to get a look at an alien spaceship – I’d been told that there are aways lights in the sky over Las Vegas so I just had to check it out by myself. I did see a few lights but I must have passed out for some reason because the next thing I knew I was
lying in a garden feeling rather strange.

I spoke to somebody about it later and they said I was either very drunk or I’d been abducted by aliens! I can’t figure it out!

Weddings

It is unbelievable how many people get married in Las Vegas every year. I mean if I could find a husband I’d get married in Las Vegas. If only I could get that young, gorgeous Coach Shane to fall madly in love with me then I’d be on cloud 9.

A very popular way of getting married in Las Vegas is Elvis Style”

Beanie and Jet took the opportunity and had Elvis himself marry them!

Top 3 things NOT to do in Las Vegas

  1. Bet more money than you have
  2. Play in the elevators in the hotels
  3. Fall in love with someone 40 years younger than yourself and find out you married them in the morning

Shopping

Fashion is my life. You must have realised by now how much I love bright colours. I like to stand out from the crowd in clothes different from everyone elses.

I spent hours in Las Vegas shopping for clothes.

So that’s my guide to Las Vegas. I had a wonderful time and I plan on going back there very soon…hopefully with Coach Shane….

VIOLET’S GUIDE TO LAS VEGAS 1

VIOLET’S GUIDE TO LAS VEGAS

Hello, I’m Violet, Violet Profusion – Principal of Atlantis High. I just love Las Vegas and recently I got to go there for my 10th time. So here is my guide to Las Vegas

Why I went to Las Vegas?
It all started with a class field trip. We needed to get out and about and see some of the finer things in life. The whole school wanted to come but we could only afford the one bus.

We arrived in Las Vegas and checked into our hotel “The Lost City of Atlantis”

The lights in Las Vegas are just “wow!” The whole skyline is just a neon glow.

I was all prepared. I’d brought lots of cash and I was ready to win!!

The Casino

Oh! The Casino in the hotel was just fantastic!! They had every type of game you could imagine, Blackjack, Roulette, Slot Machines, Rummie and a Wheel of Fortune. The atmosphere was electric and everything was so exciting! I was winning and winning and then….I was losing and losing.

What you might find in Las Vegas

  1. Casinos (everywhere)
  2. Movie stars (if you look closely)
  3. Elvis
  4. Aliens
  5. An empty wallet

That’s the thing with gambling – you need to know your limits and be prepared to lose. I can say that now (now that I’ve been to Gambler’s Anonymous) but back then it was all a ritzy dream. I was dreaming of fast cars and a luxury lifestyle – I’d forgotten what reality was.

And then I lost the school… but that’s another story.

THE ATLANTIS HIGH GUIDE TO HAIR STYLES 2

THE ATLANTIS HIGH GUIDE TO HAIR STYLES

Sabrina Georgia
Sabrina has blond hair in tight fluffy curls. She’s proud of her hair – it helps her stand out in a crowd. Sabrina didn’t always have curly hair.

When Sabrina was younger she had the straightest hair you’ve ever seen. One day her mother brought her home a puppy – a poodle. Sabrina was amazed at the dogs curls! She decided then and there that she wasn’t ever going to have straight hair again.

Sabrina now spends 2 hours once a fortnight in the most expensive Dog Groomers in town. She’s well known for her tight fluffy curls and no-one knows how she does it.

The Aliens

The aliens in Sunset Cove don’t have hair. Their “head” style consists mainly of large veins.

They have been caught out a couple of times imitating people combing their hair. Which can be a messy business for some aliens with sharp combs and large veins…

The Anti Hair campaign

Not everyone makes a style out of the hair on their head. Recently there have been collectors strolling the street of Sunset Cove. Their cause is “Women against Shaving”. These woman believe in facial hair and underarm hair and this is their style.j

These same women have formed a new club in the last few months “The lonely heart club”.
