THE ATLANTIS HIGH GUIDE TO HAIRSTYLES 1

THE ATLANTIS HIGH GUIDE TO HAIRSTYLES

Everyone in Sunset Cove is devoted to their “look”. Hairstyles are a big part of how we look and there are some very crazy hairstyles in Sunset Cove. So this week we give you our Atlantis High Guide to hairstyles.

Violet – Winner of the most hairstyles in Sunset Cove

In her teens Violet Profusion dreamed of being a hairdresser. She would play with her hair all day long and would often get in trouble at school.

When Violet was 24 she was diagnosed with alopecia (hair loss). She only lost a small amount of hair and it did grow back but Violet was traumatised. Her hair had meant everything to her and to have some of it falling out was a catastrophe.

Violet took to wearing wigs. She started off with the normal hair coloured and styled ones but Violet’s a different girl. She doesn’t like to conform and finding anything bigger and bolder was better.

Now Violet owns around 100 wigs. She spends 30 minutes every morning trying to decide which one to wear and another 20 minutes putting it on.

Occasionally she has been chased down the street by children who think she’s the local clown.

Mr Dorsey

Mr Dorsey doesn’t usually have hair – that is to say, when he is in his natural form he doens’t usually have hair. Mr Dorsey is a reptile and reptiles don’t have hair, they have scales. So when Mr Dorsey came to earth on his “mission” he was forced to take on the “human” look.

As you can see Mr Dorsey is unsure what to do with his hair and we believe he has never brushed it.

Jet Marigold

Jet loves her blue hair. Her favourite colour is blue and she loves to trawl the shops looking for any type of clothing that is blue.

Because Jet has worn blue clothing her whole life, her hair grows blue naturally. She’s even in the Guiness Book of Records.

THE SUNSET COVE GUIDE TO ATLANTIS HIGH

THE SUNSET COVE GUIDE TO ATLANTIS HIGH
Atlantis High is a milestone in television. It covers many spectrums in the television world. It’s a world where aliens rule supreme, bronzed hunks and beauty queens mingle with secret agents and superheroes, and the Underworld takes on a whole new meaning.

MILESTONES IN ENTERTAINMENT

10,000BC – The first dance routine was discovered. Cave Man Ug slipped on a banana skin and some Sabre tooth Tiger droppings and his well know moves became known as the “slive jive”, the “smoove joove” and the “crocadilly shuffle”.

1888/1889 – Thomas Edison made the first “talking picture” where he had a series of pictures played in sequence with recorded sound.

1928 – The first dialogue film released by Warner Brothers “Lights of New York”.

1930 – The first publicly televised play was played on television

1942
– Tap Dancing invented – Drew Druid (who was profoundly deaf) stepped on some bottle tops one day. They got stuck to the bottom of his shoes. But because he was deaf he couldn’t hear the clatter they made. People liked the sound and Drew Druid became one of the most famous Tap Dancers around.

September 2001 – Atlantis High is broadcast for the very first time.

Over the years there have been all sorts of television programme genres. Spy movies like James Bond, Drama’s, Science Fiction, Alien movies like E.T and Roswell, superheroes and of course Comedy.

Atlantis High is a spoof melodrama that captures the milieu of soap television in a zany, creative and visually colourful way.

Atlantis High revolves around themes that deal with human drama and interplay, alien discovery, love and teenage angst. The series pays homage to the great soap operas and spoof television movies of our time, such as the icon series “Soap”, and the themes of coming of age explored in classics like American Graffiti.

In a way it captures all the above genres. Spy movies – Octavia is a secret agent working for a mysterious boss. There is intrigue at her character in which nothing phases her and there is nothing she is not capable of doing. A James Bond type character.

Beanie is an alien from another world but why is he on Earth, and where does he come from? There are three other Aliens travelling around Sunset Cove in a spaceship. They are looking for something or someone… but what?

Superheroes – Josh Montana is the Atlantis High quarterback but no one realises he is really “Silver Lining” in disguise!! The typical superhero with bright colours a long cape and a catchy phrase “truth, honour and justice awaits!”

Atlantis High has been an idea in the making for many years. Atlantis High has been met with great critical acclaim and has already built up a large audience. The series has furthermore increased its audience with each episode broadcast, reflecting a spread of “word of mouth” among its new fans.

THE ATLANTIS HIGH GUIDE TO SCHOOL 2

THE ATLANTIS HIGH GUIDE TO SCHOOLS

Top 5 excuses for homework

  1. My sister ate it
  2. I must have used invisible ink in my pen
  3. I used it as toilet paper
  4. My mum thought it was so good she sent it in to MENSA
  5. My brother stole it and said it was his!

Homework and Tests

Homework – is it never done? We spend 6 hours a day at school and are then expected to do another 2 hours when we get home! Gee, life isn’t fair.

Some people find tests invigorating – all that study finally put to good use and proving to yourself that you’ve taken it in and it will be with you for life.

Others find themselves feeling physically sick at the thought of a test. Sweaty palms, butterfly stomachs and mind blocks. You take one look at the test and scream inside your head “Arrrrgggghhh how am supposed to remember this????”

Tests don’t seem part of the curriculum at Atlantis High – it’s the most relaxed school in the world! They’re amazed if you can read!

Sports

Sports at school can be fun and most schools offer a range of activities. Coach Shane teaches sport at Atlantis High and he considers anything to be a sport including dancing, the hoolahoop and even taking a spa. As long as you have great muscle tone, a 10/10 golden tan and the right clothes then you’re Coach Shane’s best student.

School Rules

Every school has rules – and consequences if you break them. Most often they are – no smoking, no wagging/bunking/skiving, no leaving the school without permission, no stealing, do not deface school property and more…

At Atlantis High school rules are somewhat different to your ordinary school – their number one rule is “You are not to wear, or have in your possession lurid, gender oppressive underwear, made by exploited child labour in politically unsound countries” AND “you are not to wear economy brand leisure wear”.

Just about ANYTHING else at Atlantis high goes.

THE ATLANTIS HIGH GUIDE TO SCHOOL 1

THE ATLANTIS HIGH GUIDE TO SCHOOL

We spend a great many years at school and we learn alot from all the people we meet. School is so important and here is the Atlantis High Guide to school…

Your 1st day at school
You usually start school at 5 or 6. By this time you’ve already been to a preschool or daycare and have been mixing with other kids, playing with playdoh, building sandcastles and learning to go to the toilet by yourself.

Your first day at school can be exciting or completely terrifying. Walking into school on the first day, you meet your teacher and another 20-25 kids – who will be your friend at lunchtime?

Giles was nervous on his first day at Atlantis High – he’d never seen such weird people. He didn’t get off on the right foot after Sabrina put a fluffy pink g-string in his bag. But his first day came and went and before he knew it he had many friends.

Friends at school

Some schools have hundreds of kids and others only have a few but there are always enough to choose friends from. Sure, you won’t get along with everybody – the boy who picks his nose, or the girl who’s always grumpy – but there’s always plenty of friends to go around for everyone.

Those early days of friendship when you’re young are spent going to birthday parties and being invited around to someone else’s house to play with their toys, teasing each other, staying overnight at a friends house without your Mum in the next room. Many social skills are learnt at an early age.

Teachers

Do you or did you have a favourite teacher? There’s often a teacher that you feel closer to or that makes class so much more fun. You really want to learn everything they’re teaching you.

Things not to do at school…

  1. Pick your nose and flick it at the teacher.
  2. Kiss the girls and make them cry
  3. Give free hair cuts to every kid
  4. Let off stink bombs in the toilet
  5. Put laxatives in the teacher’s drinks

But then there are some teachers you just can’t stand. They never smile, they make the work boring or you think they secretly hate you. We’ve all met teachers like this!

What do you think of the teacher’s at Atlantis High?

THE ATLANTIS HIGH GUIDE TO HOLIDAYS 2

THE ATLANTIS HIGH GUIDE TO HOLIDAYS

So what do Sunset Cover’s like to do while on Holiday?

Giles
“I like a low key holiday – spending time with the family – nothing too exhausting – watching tv, reading a book. Spending time with Octavia would be my dream holiday – maybe catching a movie or going to the library.”

Things you must NOT do on holiday!

  1. Eat suntan lotion – it’s just not right!
  2. Relax for too long in the sun and get burned.
  3. Pick out the wrong random phrases from foreign language phrase books – like if you’re asking for directions to the shops and you instead ask “can you tell me my name?”
  4. Homework
  5. Go on holiday and leave your family at home.

Coach Shane

“Holidays! Woohoo! I’d go to the gym of course – nothing too strenuous just a little workout for maybe 4 hours a day – checking out the talent while I’m there – then a sauna and a spa to wash it down. Then on to Vegas! A little gambling at the casino’s, checking out the nightlife and party, party party!!”

Grampa

“Oooh holiday’s I remember those. My whole life’s a holiday now – being retired and all. These days television keeps me entertained! I’ve 238 channels to surf so there’s no way I’m about to get bored. Something I’d like to do if I did get away would be to visit a television factory. I’d love to see how they shrink everyone to get them into that little box.”

Sabrina

The only holiday you’ll ever find me taking is a shopping holiday! My favourite places are Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills, Champs-Elysees in Paris, Harrods and Oxford St in London, and of course the fashion capital, Milan, Italy. I always take at least 7 credit cards with me and I usually take a months shopping holiday. I’ve got a reputation to uphold in Sunset Cove!

Josh Montana

I’m drawn by the aroma of females so a nice beach is always the best place for me to holiday. As long as there are females around then I’m basking in the sun and soaking up all that lavish attention. Coach Shane has given me some great tips over the years. As long as the sun is shining and a mirror isn’t too far away, I’m in heaven..
